The Community Services Department offers affordable, year-round aquatic programs at two locations, the Richmond Plunge and the Richmond Swim Center. We offer a wide variety of programs.
All programs are  led by professional, enthusiastic, American Red Cross certified pool staff. Swimmers of all ages and abilities will discover that the benefits of aquatic instruction, recreation and fitness are endless.

POOLS & ALL NON-ESSENTIAL SERVICES ARE CLOSED

Due to the directive issued by the State of California, Contra Costa County and the City of Richmond regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19), our department will be closed until further notice. Please note that during this time e-mail and voicemail sent to staff will be checked intermittently.

Essential services such as Police, Fire, and Public Works are operational. Please visit the main COVID-19 City of Richmond page for more information.

POOL SCHEDULES & PROGRAMS

effective Mar 1-June 5, 2020

WAIT LISTS
On warm days, we tend to fill to our capacity. When that happens we will start a wait list, but there is no guarantee of entry at that point. This most typically happens during Family Recreation Swim sessions, but can happen at any time.

FAMILY RECREATION SWIM

If you are looking for unstructured play time in the pool, you should come during a Family Recreation Swim session. We may have limited space for Lap swimming during these sessions, but there is no guarantee. Do not come during Lap Swim if you want to play in the water, or have children under 16 years.

We hire Lifeguards year-round.
