Aquatics

     Young boy swimming

The Community Services Department offers affordable, year-round aquatic programs at two locations, the Richmond Plunge and the Richmond Swim Center. We offer a wide variety of programs.
All programs are  led by professional, enthusiastic, American Red Cross certified pool staff. Swimmers of all ages and abilities will discover that the benefits of aquatic instruction, recreation and fitness are endless.

POOLS ARE CLOSED

Contra Costa County has moved back into the purple tier, which means we cannot continue our reopening plans for our indoor pools. Once we have solid footing in the red tier, we will resume our training plans for Lifeguards who are still available to work. Please keep in mind that indoor pools are not allowed to open (based on CA requirements) until we reach the orange tier. At that time, the county and the Richmond Emergency Operations Center (EOC) management also have to approve our opening. Please check back here for updates.

If you would like to receive email updates about City of Richmond pools, please email your first and last name to Richmond_Plunge@ci.richmond.ca.us
